5 Minutes with Sulaiman Al-Romi
This week, we have the great honour to meet Sulaiman Al Romi, Chairman of Saudi Premier Travel & Tourism Group.
A legend in the travel and tourism industry, Sulaiman Al-Romi is currently the Chairman of Saudi Premier Travel & Tourism Group, a well-established organization that caters to both international and domestic travel with focus on MICE, and provides complete travel solutions tailored to the needs of government and non-governmental sectors.
With a rich background, Sulaiman Al-Romi has previously served as Head of Public Relations for Capital Market Authority over 16 years, after spending 10 years with Saudi Central Bank – SAMA.
Sulaiman, presently what’s your favourite international destination?
It depends if im traveling with family or if I’m alone. With family I would choose Maldives to rewind, be close to the sea, and enjoy the calmness and quite. Alone, I would go for Italy. I love the Italian life style, food and the Italian alps. For a short city break, it’s definitely London. It’s a city that provides everything I need.
An upcoming destination you would like to visit?
I’ve traveled almost to all corners of the globe, and yet one place that is on my bucket list is Fiji.
Favourite hotel worldwide?
This is probably the most difficult question I can ever answer to. I probably have few in each destination and I will probably stop here.
A suite that did live up to the hype?
What an extraordinarily difficult question! My favorite suite is the one that reflects my needs, likes and necessities in every luxury hotel that I have stayed in till date. My favorite suite is the one that has the colors I love, the living area that I enjoy, the amenities that are valuable to me and last but not the least that has the view that takes my mind off the daily priorities and brings peace to my mind.
A hotelier or hotel company that has impressed you by service consistency over your career in Travel?
As a person who deals with top luxury hotel chains on daily basis, I can probably mention Four Seasons, Mandarin, Dorchester…and for sure that list is even longer to be fair.
Favourite restaurant?
I have had the pleasure of dining in many fine restaurants across the globe and for sure Cipriani is right at top of my list!
Favourite refreshment?
I would never say no to the famous “black magic” mocktail that The Ritz-Carlton Riyadh serves. It was created by a German mixologist and it is by far the most extraordinary mocktail that you could ever taste in the world!
What can’t you travel without?
In my world response to people and vice versa waiting for response matters I ask for is key, and therefore I cannot imagine leaving behind my smartphone!
Favourite song/music?
Classic music is very relaxing and especially when I work from my suite while traveling it helps me stay focused and think.
